Amy and Tammy have begun their exciting Florida trip with Amanda and the others. While Tammy seems to be enjoying herself at the beach, she misses Caleb and wishes that he could have come with them too. As for Amy, she’s secretly not taking the meds, causing her to fall sick or feel weak throughout the trip. 

TLC’s 1000-Lb Sisters is all about the lives of two sisters, Amy and Tammy Slaton, who are trying their best to get their weight under control. Besides their intriguing weight loss attempts, we also get to see what it’s like being a Slaton and how hard life can get when weight holds you back. 

While Amy and Tammy are the main focus of 1000 Lb Sisters, the series shows the progress and lives of people like Chris, Michael, Caleb, and many others who are usually hanging out with the sisters. The 5th season’s off to a great start, as Tammy looks healthier than ever before. 

Recap

Amy leaves the studio after she ends up feeling sick, worrying Tammy and the others. Turns out, Amy hasn’t been eating her meds or any good food, which is why she is falling weak by the day. Chris decides to talk to Amy and figure out what’s going on in her life. 

Amy reveals that she was indeed sick at the Zumba class and hated the way Amanda and the others ganged up on her. Tammy and Amy later go to the salon to prepare for the trip. Tammy remembers the time the salon owner offered to give her a free manicure and pedicure if she was able to lose enough weight. 

Now that she is much lighter, Tammy hopes to get herself a good set of nails for free. Amy watches Tammy walk up the stairs and gets emotional. While it wasn’t a big thing, it showed that Tammy was eventually getting healthier every day and all of her efforts were paying off.

After the pedicure, Tammy gets a present from Caleb. Being away from Caleb was making Tammy feel sad and she hoped he would be able to join her family on this exciting trip to Florida. Tammy and Amy then head over to another salon to get themselves a fake tan for the trip. 

Tammy isn’t able to find a good swimsuit for herself, but her sister Amy has a fun time trying out different fits. Amy and her family decide to drive to Florida, while Tammy and the others decide to go by plane. Tammy is afraid to be on a plane, but she soon starts to adjust to the claustrophobic space. 

While Tammy and Chris’ trip may have been pleasant, the same can’t be said about Amy, who is stuck in a car with her crying kids for a long time. Both Amy and her kids end up in a cranky mood. The Slatons arrive at Pensacola Beach and start their sunny vacation.

In “Boiling Point“, Chris finally gets the chance to complete an adventure he had been looking forward to most of his life. Tammy seems to be doing well for now, but she still misses Caleb. The car ride and everything else made Amy lose her cool, but when her siblings kept taunting her, Amy’s anger reached a new level.

Amy and Tammy Slaton will be returning with a new episode on January 30th, 2024. All new exciting episodes of 1000-Lb Sisters usually come out on Tuesdays, with each episode lasting for around 60 minutes. 

Season 5 of 1000 Lb Sisters will be aired on TLC, with new episodes coming out at 9:00 PM ET & 8:00 PM CT. Besides TLC and TLC Go, 1000 Lb Sisters will also be available to stream on Hulu, YouTube TV, and Prime Video.

The Slatons finally start their Florida trip on a good note. Amy and Tammy seem to be making healthy choices in life, but Amy still has moments where she struggles to maintain a good lifestyle.
