After going through the hellish training regime prepared by Alan, Kyril has now learned the colorless sword technique that has allowed him to infuse mana with his swordsmanship. With this technique, Kyril is now stronger than ever and he’s now ready to finally establish his kingdom.
Kyril and his team have left the Ulca guild in Thompson’s hand and now they are headed towards the empty land to set up their base. Season 1 of 9th Class Sword Master: The Guardian of the Sword was all about Kyril’s development and the Season 2 is sure to display Kyril’s true strength!
The Chapter opens up with Kyril finding the place that holds the method to open his mana veins. Alan confirms the method by saying that he has researched magic for a thousand years. Alan then asks Kyril if he remembers the blue phosphorus that he told him about earlier.

Kyril says that he can never forget how Alan burned such expensive blue phosphorus like it’s nothing. Alan laughs and says that Kyril doesn’t need to worry as long as he has him. He then tells Kyril that they can get more blue phosphorus from the Fountain of Arcanum in the Abyss mountains. Alan further adds that the weapons made from blue phosphorus have a great effect on the corrupted as it has the power of the spirits.
Alan says that the dragon taught him mana and magic and commanded him to manage the Fountain of Arcanum. After managing the fountain of Arcanum for decades, Alan learned that dragon magic is related to spirit stones as dragons are essentially beings belonging to the spirit world. The water of the Fountain of Arcanum can strengthen a dragon’s mana and so that place was very important to them.
Kyril realizes that he can also stabilize his dragon mana at the Fountain of Arcanum. Kyril also acknowledges that his Alan contract with Alan is truly beneficial but he still doesn’t understand what Alan is going to gain from all this. Alan thinks that he can’t hide anything from Kyril and so he agrees to tell him everything.
Alan says that he wants to do quenching. He explains that if the freezing talon or any weapon created by the bladers is fed into the water from the Fountain of Arcanum then its spirit stone will be strengthened. This way, the freezing talon will have enough spiritual power that it may even accept Alan’s soul. Kyril wonders if Alan is trying to materialize himself through a sword.
Alan agrees with Kyril and says that he would also need Kyril’s mana to do that. Kyril starts smilingly menacingly which makes Alan a bit scared as he knows that Kyril is about to do something crazy now. Kyril says that he will find all 4 weapons made by the bladers and quench them in the water from the Fountain of Arcanum.
Kyril can then use those weapons to materialize other spirits who would be useful to him. Alan gets scared and asks Kyril if he’s planning to take down the owner Lich Zarka Hotch of the castle of ghosts. Alan’s fear is justified as Zarka is someone who wasn’t defeated even during the age of magic thousands of years ago. Kyril says that he’s not going to fight Zarka right now.
Kyril then asks Alan to create a Mirage space so that he can finish his training. Outside Kyril’s room, Aidan starts to lose patience as he has been waiting for Kyril for 12 hours. Aidan suddenly arrives and orders Aidan to find a man named Thompson. Aidan immediately runs to find Thompson as if he is being controlled by Kyril.
Kyril tells Alan that he has now learned all 7 forms of the colorless energy sword. With the colorless energy sword, Kyril now knows how to fuse his mana with his swordsmanship so it’s time to give it a try. Kyril arrives at the Ulca Guild and tells Bargo that he knows about all the illegal dealings of the church.
Bargo tries to talk his way out but when Kyril shows proof to back his accusations, Bargo decides to get rid of Kyril. Sadly for Bargo, Kyril immediately kills his assistant and then slowly kills him too after some interrogation. After killing Bargo, Kyril hands over the guild to Thompson.
Thompson cries and readily accepts Kyril’s offer, he even vows to serve Kyril for the rest of his life. Kyril then decides to leave Azor after meeting with Aidan for the last time. Kyril now has money from Tatur and the military from the Gyodo mercenary corps and so all that’s left for him is to find some land to establish his base. Even though a single person establishing a nation sounds ridiculous, it can still happen if that person is Kyril!
Release Date and Where to Read
9th Class Sword Master: The Guardian of the Sword Manhwa series released its last chapter, Chapter 40, in September 2023 and it has been on hiatus ever since. The Producer of this series, Daon Webtoon Studio, released an official statement to tell the fans about their indefinite hiatus.
So far, there has not been any official news regarding the release of 9th Class Sword Master: The Guardian of the Sword Chapter 41 or Season 2 of this Manhwa so we can only predict when it will be released. Going by the usual hiatus of Webtoon developers, one can expect Chapter 41 of this series to be released somewhere around February 2024.
