Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, made a rare public appearance with her family, attending a Sunday service at Crathie Kirk church in Scotland. She was accompanied by her husband, Prince William, who drove the car, and their eldest son, Prince George.
This outing marks Kate’s first public appearance in over a month due to her ongoing cancer treatments. The princess was photographed wearing a beige plaid jacket by Holland Cooper, a brown fedora with feathers, and dangling gold earrings, as documented by HELLO! magazine.
Noticeably absent from the outing were the couple’s younger children, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Despite their absence, the service was attended by several other royal family members, including King Charles III, who is also battling cancer, and his wife, Queen Camilla.
The king wore traditional Scottish attire, featuring a red and green kilt and a gray blazer. Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, were also seen arriving at the church.
Kate has largely stayed out of the public eye since March, when she announced in a video that she was undergoing cancer treatment. This church visit came two weeks after she and Prince William released a video message celebrating the British Olympic team at the conclusion of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
In the video, Kate congratulated Team GB, while William, who had grown a slight beard for the occasion, appeared clean-shaven during the church service.
The princess’s last in-person public appearance before this was in mid-July at the Wimbledon tennis tournament, where she attended the men’s singles final with her daughter Princess Charlotte and her sister Pippa Middleton. Kate, dressed in a radiant purple dress, received a standing ovation from the crowd, highlighting the public’s admiration and support for her during this challenging time.
Kate’s recent appearances, though few, have been marked by significant public interest, reflecting her enduring popularity and the public’s concern for her health. Despite her health challenges, the Princess of Wales continues to fulfill her royal duties, albeit on a more limited basis.
