'Marry My Husband' Inspires Japanese Adaptation

The widely acclaimed tvN drama ‘Marry My Husband’ is set to conquer Japanese screens as it gears up for a localized version. Studio Dragon, the production powerhouse behind the original Korean series, disclosed on February 14 that discussions regarding the adaptation of the beloved webtoon into a Japanese drama were in progress even before the Korean version had its debut.

Studio Dragon cited the extraordinary popularity of the ‘Marry My Husband’ webtoon in Japan as a key factor influencing this decision. The production team is actively engaged in discussions with their Japanese counterparts to finalize the creative direction of the adaptation.

Featuring a star-studded cast including Park Min Young, Lee Yi Kyung, Na In Woo, and Song Ha Yoon, ‘Marry My Husband’ has been a resounding success since its premiere on January 1 KST. As the drama approaches its conclusion with only two episodes remaining, it has garnered steadily increasing viewership ratings. Notably, the 11th episode, which aired on February 5 KST, achieved its highest nationwide rating of 11.8%, according to Nielsen Korea.
