Jujutsu Kaisen season two was seriously the talk of the town in 2023! People couldn’t get enough of the epic storyline and those jaw-dropping fight scenes.

It was so popular that it snagged a bunch of nominations at the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards.

But, like with anything that gets big, there were some bumps along the road. Some of the animators had beef with Mappa, the studio behind the magic.

However, there was this one animator who actually stood up for Mappa instead of joining the complaining crowd.

This animator, who worked on season two, basically said,

“Yeah, it was tough. The workload was insane, and the pay wasn’t great. But, hey, compared to some gigs in the U.S., it wasn’t that bad. And I’m grateful for the chance to be a part of something as awesome as Jujutsu Kaisen.”

It’s not just Mappa, though. The whole anime industry has its issues when it comes to how they treat their animators.

As for the content of Jujutsu Kaisen season two, produced by Mappa, it delved into the Hidden Inventory arc and the Shibuya arc, widely regarded as the series’ zenith.

These arcs marked pivotal turning points in the storyline, propelling it into a narrative trajectory of no return.

The season deftly navigated the complexities of these arcs, from the introduction of characters like Toji to the climactic sealing of Gojo.

Its action-packed sequences and narrative depth solidified its reputation as one of the finest anime seasons to date, notwithstanding the constraints faced by its animators.

Looking ahead, anticipation for season three is palpable, with production already underway and a teaser confirming its existence.

However, no official release dates have been announced, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the next chapter in the Jujutsu Kaisen saga.
