Actor Gong Myung and Doyeon denied their dating rumors, just in a couple of hours. The two found themselves entangled in the same way, yet swiftly refuted them, attributing the confusion to a misunderstanding.
On the morning of the 26th, a media outlet published an exclusive report claiming Gong Myung and Doyeon were romantically involved.
According to the report, the duo, who had been linked since their rookie days under the same agency, allegedly deepened their bond following Doyeon’s cameo in the JTBC drama ‘Be Melodramatic’ in 2019, where Gong Myung held a significant role.
The report also noted Doyeon’s recent departure from the Weki Meki dormitory, suggesting a potential advancement in their relationship.
However, shortly after, Gong Myung’s agency, Saram Entertainment, informed OSEN, stating,
“The dating rumors involving Weki Meki’s Doyeon are unfounded,” emphasizing that “their relationship was solely that of seniors and juniors within the same agency.”
Doyeon’s side also echoed the statement. Her agency, Fantagio, clarified,
“The dating rumors about our artist Weki Meki’s Kim Doyeon reported in the media today are not true.”
They continued,
“They were merely close as seniors and juniors from the same agency, and the content of the article is not true. We ask for restraint in speculation, spreading, and reproduction of false facts.”
Meanwhile, Gong Myung, who completed his military service in June last year, is making a vigorous comeback with the recent film ‘Citizen of a Kind’.
Doyeon made her debut as a member of the girl group ‘I.O.I’ after clinching the final 8th place in Mnet’s ‘Produce 101’ in 2016. The subsequent year, she re-debuted as a member of ‘Weki Meki’ and has since been active both as a singer and actress.
