To watch HBO’s highly anticipated dark comedy miniseries, “The Regime,” starring Kate Winslet, you can tune in to HBO through various platforms such as HBO Max, cable/satellite providers with HBO subscription, or streaming services that offer HBO as an add-on.

As for the release schedule, new episodes of the satirical series are typically released weekly, but you can check HBO’s official website or streaming platform for specific airing times and dates.

The Regime,” created by Will Tracy, known for his work on “Succession,” is a limited series that delves into the inner workings of a modern European regime as it faces upheaval.

Kate Winslet takes on the role of Elena Vernham, the Chancellor of a fictional European nation, while Matthias Schoenaerts portrays Corporal Herbert Zubak, a fallen soldier who rises to become her confidant.

The star-studded cast also includes Guillaume Gallienne, Andrea Riseborough, Martha Plimpton, and Hugh Grant.

“It’s a love story between these two people who have this kind of dreamy vibe, even when they first see each other,” Tracy told Entertainment Weekly ahead of the Season 1 premiere.

“It’s a little bit like Sleeping Beauty. ‘I know you. I walked with you once upon a dream.’ I wanted to carry that somewhat stylized, dreamy, middle-European fairy-tale tone throughout the show. I’m not sure if that relates to any other piece of pop culture, which probably made it a little bit harder to describe exactly what the show was.”

Tracy revealed that he didn’t initially pen the role of Elena specifically for Winslet, but expressed that he would have been “heartbroken” if she hadn’t accepted the lead role in “The Regime.”

“As she started to develop the character and the way she looked and sounded and behaved, then I’m writing towards that,” he explained.

“She [Winslet] really thought about how she would dress, what her hair would be like from scene to scene, from moment to moment, depending on who she’s meeting with, who she’s talking to, how she wants to be perceived, what message she wants to send,” he continued.

“So much of the character is wrapped up in the presentation and the image. Kate was quite brilliant preparing for all of that.”

Winslet shared that she opted not to draw inspiration from specific figures for her portrayal of Elena, stating that she believed it wouldn’t be a prudent choice.

“I was able to lean into these absurd, totally irrational, sometimes reckless sides of this invented imagined character, and coming up with ways to play a lot of those scenes was really a huge amount of fun. There was always, always the element of theatrics,” she described.

“And she couldn’t just be one way or say certain things or shout or screech or be physically, overtly sexual because it had to be all for a reason.”
