The My Hero Academia manga is hurtling towards its climactic end as the intense showdown between Shigaraki and Izuku Midoriya rages on, each refusing to yield an inch. In the midst of this relentless struggle, Midoriya is leaving no stone unturned, striving to capitalize on every fleeting opportunity that presents itself in the heated fray.

Prior to the ultimate clash between Izuku and Shigaraki, All for One cunningly attempts to gain an edge over the heroes by manipulating one of the students, Aoyama, as his unwitting pawn.

However, fortune favors the heroes as Toru Hagakura intercepts crucial information about All for One’s ploy from Yuga’s parents, prompting her to swiftly intervene and foil the villain’s nefarious scheme.

Accompanied by Izuku, they successfully apprehend the traitor within the U.A. School ranks, who had callously endangered the lives of their fellow students on numerous occasions.

In subsequent chapters, amidst the chaos of battle against Kunieda, Toru’s quirk unexpectedly interacts with Aoyama’s laser, causing a glitch that inadvertently exposes her tangible form to the naked eye, a revelation that raises intriguing questions about her quirk’s true nature.

Could this unexpected development signify a newfound ability for Toru to exert voluntary control over her quirk, or is it merely a transient anomaly in the heat of combat?

Toru Hagakure’s ‘Invisibility’ Quirk and Unforeseen Alliances in My Hero Academia

Toru Hagakure’s quirk, ‘Invisibility,’ doesn’t grant her control over when she’s visible or not; it’s always active. Unless she’s clothed, she’s invisible to the human eye. However, her visibility changes when she interacts with Aoyama’s Navel Laser.

This laser refracts light off her body, making her momentarily visible. We catch a glimpse of her face in Chapter 337 when she accidentally reflects the laser towards Izuku. Toru Hagakure, a student in Class 1-A at U.A. school, possesses the ‘Invisibility’ quirk, first introduced in My Hero Academia chapter 6.

During the U.A. High School entrance exams, Toru demonstrated her ingenuity by modifying her quirk to add an offensive element. When faced with the approaching green robots, she redirected Aoyama’s Navel Beam towards them, earning herself some extra points in the process.

Beyond her light-deflecting abilities, Toru has also displayed the capacity to disorient opponents nearby with what she calls Warp Reflection, akin to the effects of a stun grenade. However, she never revealed her face until Chapter 337 of My Hero Academia, as her quirk had always kept her invisible.

In the U.A. Traitor Arc, when Aoyama began acting suspiciously and distanced himself from his classmates who were earnestly training for the impending conflict, Toru grew suspicious and trailed him.

As Aoyama ventured into a nearby forest, his parents tasked him with another mission, assigned by none other than All for One. As the pieces of the puzzle fell into place during their conversation, Aoyama’s role as the traitor became painfully clear.

Toru seized the opportunity and tipped off Izuku, who trailed Aoyama to the forest. There, Izuku confronted Aoyama and his parents, leading to a tense standoff where Aoyama ultimately accepted his allegiance to the villain.

In a surprising turn, he unleashed his Navel Laser at Izuku, but Toru intervened just in time, redirecting the laser’s path and inadvertently revealing a glimpse of her face. Amidst the chaos, her presence went unnoticed.

In the midst of the Final War arc, Toru and Aoyama found themselves facing off against Kunieda, a formidable villain. As Aoyama unleashed his Navel Laser at full force, Toru utilized her ability to redirect the beam, ultimately incapacitating Kunieda and securing victory.

The intensity of Aoyama’s Navel Laser during the battle caused Toru’s entire body to become visible, unlike previous instances where only her face had been exposed. This time, Aoyama also caught sight of her, marking a significant development in their dynamic.
