SpongeBob SquarePants is diving into the real world with its inaugural official restaurant, set to open in Sao Paolo, Brazil, later this April. Dubbed Bob Esponja – Burguer & Restaurante, this venture marks the franchise’s first standalone dining establishment.
In collaboration with Fan&Food, the restaurant promises specialized food areas, children’s entertainment zones, retail sections, and more, all under one roof, allowing fans to immerse themselves in SpongeBob SquarePants fantasy.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bob Esponja – Burguer & Restaurante will span two floors, covering 1,000 square meters, and accommodate up to 254 visitors in specially themed areas.
Boasting four distinct food zones, a retail outlet, and two dedicated children’s spaces, the restaurant joins Paramount Location-Based Entertainment & Experiences division, which has already overseen the launch of 50 similar establishments worldwide.
On the first floor, guests can enjoy 144 seats amidst a Bikini Bottom-inspired setting, while the second floor will house “The Flying Dutchman’s Lounge,” featuring decor inspired by the infamous ghostly ship.
Additionally, a fine dining area dubbed the “SpongeBob House” will offer an exclusive culinary experience with 70 seats, curated by renowned chef Heaven Delhaye.
