Arsenal has confirmed that midfielder Frida Maanum is in stable condition following her collapse during the FA Women’s League Cup final against Chelsea on Sunday. The alarming incident occurred in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time, prompting an immediate suspension of play.

Maanum received on-field treatment and was provided with an oxygen mask during the medical stoppage. However, she left the pitch on a stretcher, having regained consciousness beforehand and was reportedly able to communicate before being taken off.

In a statement released shortly after the incident, Arsenal assured fans of Maanum’s condition, stating, “Frida is conscious, talking, and in a stable condition.” The club further mentioned that she would continue to be closely monitored by their medical team.

Following a nine-minute delay, the match resumed, with Alessia Russo substituting in for Maanum. The game eventually went into extra time after a goalless ninety minutes. In a dramatic turn of events, Arsenal emerged victorious with a 1-0 win, courtesy of a goal by Stina Blackstenius in the 116th minute.
