Within just three weeks of its first season dropping in September, it got a whopping 42.6 million views.
It stayed in the top 10 list on Netflix in over 43 countries for two weeks, and it’s been trending on TikTok with 300 million views.
Heartbreak High blends the honesty and humor of Sex Education with the drama of Degrassi, capturing the real experiences of Australian teens today.
The first season introduced us to a bunch of interesting characters created by Hannah Carroll Chapman.
Fans are eager to know what happens next and if their favorite characters will get back together. Throughout the season, we saw a lot of relationships and friendships being explored.
Like Darren’s complicated romance with Ca$h, who got arrested at the end of the season, Amerie and Harper finally settled their love triangle with Malakai and Dusty.
Dusty’s betrayal made Amerie see Malakai differently, hinting at possible feelings between them. Quinni and Sasha’s relationship didn’t work out, showing they were incompatible.
Plot
Season 2 will continue the story from where Season 1 left off, and many fans are excited to see what’s in store for the main characters.
Amerie and Harper have rekindled their friendship, and it’s nice to see them supporting each other instead of fighting like they did before. In the last episode, we finally found out what happened at the music festival.
Harper and Amerie got separated in the crowd after Harper threw away their pills, and Amerie ended up spending the night with class clown Spider while looking for Harper.
Harper was with her friend Ca$h when bad guys tried to hurt her. Ca$h helped her escape, but she ended up at her friend Amerie’s house at a bad time.
Amerie didn’t answer, so Harper had to go home, where her dad (who already had problems) scared her again. This time, Harper had to defend herself.
Because of what happened, Harper couldn’t stay with her dad and lived with another family for a while.
Sadly, things got bad again with her dad, and Harper had to protect herself once more.
Even though they make mistakes Harper and Amerie stick by each other through thick and thin. Now, everyone wonders what kind of trouble they’ll get into next.
Even after their failed attempt at a relationship, it’s clear that Spider still cares for Amerie. Hopefully, we’ll see more of their bond in the future.
It would also be interesting to see Dusty or Malakai become more comfortable with their bisexuality and explore their identities.
Fans were happy to see Malakai and Missy become friends, especially after Missy supported Malakai following a tough situation with the police.
Hopefully, we’ll see more of their friendship in season 2, along with Missy having her own storyline beyond her past relationship and supporting Malakai.
