The New York Jets have their starting quarterback position secured with Aaron Rodgers, pending his recovery from an Achilles tear. Meanwhile, Tyrod Taylor has been signed as the backup, joining from their MetLife Stadium co-tenants, the New York Giants.

The team’s quarterback situation for the future remains uncertain, with Zach Wilson expected to be traded during the offseason.

In their quest to address this uncertainty, the Jets have been evaluating draft-eligible quarterbacks through top-30 visits. Bleacher Report indicates that Tulane’s Michael Pratt is set to meet with the Jets this week, while KPRC2 reports that the team recently hosted Samford quarterback Michael Hiers.

During his four-year tenure at Tulane, Pratt showcased promising statistics, completing 60.6% of his passes with an average of 8 yards per attempt. He threw for 90 touchdowns and rushed for an additional 28 scores, demonstrating dual-threat capabilities.

Hiers, on the other hand, started for two seasons at the FCS level, boasting an impressive completion rate of over 72% in both years. He amassed 6,590 yards, 54 touchdowns, and just 12 interceptions, albeit against lower competition.

Pratt is ranked as the No. 7 quarterback and No. 87 player in the NFL Draft prospect rankings, positioning him as a potential Day 2 or early Day 3 pick. On the other hand, Hiers is not ranked, suggesting he may be a late-round selection or an undrafted free-agent target for the Jets.
