In a recent update from NBA insider Shams Charania on his X (formerly Twitter) account, the 76ers have decided to extend Council IV’s two-way contract by four years, signing him to a 7.4 million-dollar agreement.

“The Philadelphia 76ers are converting two-way G/F Ricky Council IV on a new four-year, $7.4 million NBA contract. The deal adds $864K in new money this season. CEO Adie von Gontard of Young Money APAA negotiated the deal. Council has averaged 5.7 points in 9.3 minutes over 30 games,” wrote Shams Charania in his post.

Council IV has displayed promising performances, particularly in the second half of this season, earning him a well-deserved contract extension. He made his debut for the Philadelphia team on January 2nd against the Chicago Bulls, playing a solid six minutes.

During his college stint with the University of Arkansas, Council IV appeared in 36 games, showcasing an average of 16.1 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. His scoring prowess ranked fifth-highest in the Southeastern Conference, making him a standout player for the team.
