Netflix has shared new images and details about its upcoming film, The Platform 2. The first movie, released in 2020, gained massive popularity for its dystopian prison setting and strong social message.

The new film’s synopsis reads, “A mysterious figure has established a new law in The Platform. But can justice be enforced in hell? Directed by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia, starring Milena Smit and Hovik Keuchkerian.”

The released images show prisoners in a haunting red tint. One image shows Milena Smit, known for The Snow Girl, looking distressed on a bed.

What is the Expected Plot of Platform 2?

Another picture presents Hovik Keuchkerian draped in a blanket, gazing upwards, hinting at the horrors ahead. While many plot details remain secret, it’s clear that The Platform 2 will go deeper into the director’s view of society.

Director Gaztelu-Urrutia shared some insights about the film. He said, “We’re excited to expand The Platform’s universe with surprises, challenges, and new and old characters. This sequel promises an exhilarating journey into the unknown.”

Hints suggest that some characters from the first film might return, possibly set in the same grim environment. Speculation includes the return of prisoners from the original or even the young girl from the first film’s ending.

Currently, The Platform 2 is in production with no release date announced. Meanwhile, viewers can watch the first film on Netflix.
