The tvN’s upcoming K-dramas, “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon” promises to deliver a beautiful blend of romance and intrigue. Set against the backdrop of Daechi, a neighbourhood renowned for its private education institutes, the drama unfolds a compelling story of love and ambition.

Helmed by director Ahn Pan Seok, known for his work on “Something in the Rain,” the series introduces viewers to a vibrant cast led by So Ju Yeon and Shin Joo Hyup. So Ju Yeon portrays Nam Cheong Mi, a determined Korean language instructor with a unique backstory.

Despite facing challenges in her career, Cheong Mi has steadily risen through the ranks, earning a coveted position at Daechi Chase Academy.

The drama’s first set of stills showcases Nam Cheong Mi exuding confidence and resilience moments before her instructor exam at Daechi Chase. Her unwavering smile hints at her determination to succeed despite obstacles.

Cheong Mi’s journey takes an unexpected turn when she becomes the first to notice the unspoken feelings between Seo Hye Jin (played by Jung Ryeo Won) and Lee Joon Ho (portrayed by Wi Ha Joon), adding depth to the unfolding romantic plot.

Shin Joo Hyup steps into the role of Choi Seung Gyu, Lee Joon Ho’s steadfast and candid friend. A Daechi Academy alumnus himself, Seung Gyu opts for graduate studies over corporate life, embodying a contrasting yet supportive presence in Joon Ho’s life.

When Joon Ho decides to return to Daechi as an instructor driven by unrequited love, Seung Gyu provides a grounded perspective amidst the emotional turmoil.
