Dominik Mysterio faces an unexpected hurdle as he gears up for surgery typically associated with baseball pitchers.

During this week’s episode of Raw, Dominik was scheduled to team up with JD McDonagh in a tag team match against Andrade & Ricochet. However, fans were surprised when Dominik appeared ringside with his arm immobilized in a sling, prompting his withdrawal from the match.

Andrade & Ricochet secured victory against McDonagh & Santos Escobar in his absence.

Details Revealed!

The injury suffered by Dominik was far from scripted. According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter by Dave Meltzer, Dominik is set to undergo Tommy John surgery. This procedure, common among baseball pitchers, repairs the ulnar collateral ligament in the elbow.

Meltzer reveals that Dominik’s injury occurred during a match with Andrade on April 15, described as a freak accident. The recovery process typically spans at least nine months for baseball pitchers. However, Dominik’s rehabilitation timeline may be shorter due to differing physical demands.

Despite the surgery, plans are in motion to maintain Dominik’s TV presence during his recovery period. Despite being sidelined from the European tour, Dominik appeared on Raw with his arm in a sling.

Dominik is a vital member of The Judgment Day faction within WWE, alongside luminaries like Rhea Ripley, World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest, Finn Balor, and JD McDonagh. Ripley finds herself in a similar predicament, sidelined due to a shoulder injury.

Also, she relinquished the Women’s World Championship, now held by Becky Lynch. Ripley’s absence from in-ring action is anticipated to last “quite a few months” as she builds on her road to recovery.
