Cody Rhodes’s Surprise and Heartfelt Revelation After SmackDown

When Friday Night SmackDown kicked up, Cody Rhodes took the mic. He began by thinking back on his most recent victory and his newfound title of Universal Champion. In addition, Rhodes said that he would be defending his championship at the next Backlash: France event.

After the show, Rhodes faced ‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio in a dark match, winning and defending his title in front of the live audience. He took advantage of the chance to speak to the crowd after the game and gave a heartfelt statement expressing his thanks and hope for the future.

Additionally, Rhodes announced the good news about a family member named Otis who had finished chemotherapy, which caused the audience to cheer.

“I have a particular place in my heart for Detroit. It’s where I got married to the most gorgeous woman on the planet and made my stage debut at the 2007 Fox Theater Hall of Fame.
