The Green Bay Packers have added Andre Dillard to their roster, marking the former first-round pick’s third team in as many years. Dillard, originally selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, spent his initial four seasons in Philadelphia before joining the Tennessee Titans on a three-year contract worth up to $29 million.

However, Dillard’s tenure with the Titans was short-lived, as the team released him with two years remaining on his contract. His departure followed a challenging season in which he struggled with pass protection, allowing 13 sacks and 39 pressures in just 308 pass-blocking snaps, equating to a pressure rate of 12.7%.

Throughout his NFL career, Dillard has faced difficulties at left tackle, particularly evident in his rookie season with the Eagles. In 2019, he yielded 25 pressures in 170 pass-blocking snaps, resulting in a pressure rate of 14.7%.

Confidence issues and inconsistency plagued Dillard during his early years in the league, compounded by a biceps injury that sidelined him for his entire second season.

With the emergence of Jordan Mailata in Philadelphia, Dillard found himself relegated to a reserve role, although his performance showed signs of improvement. In limited playing time, he allowed just one sack and 18 pressures in 237 pass-blocking snaps, achieving a lower pressure rate of 7.6%.

Joining the Packers, Dillard will add depth at the left tackle position behind projected starter Rasheed Walker. Given his skill set, Dillard is expected to contribute as a backup and provide valuable support to the offensive line rotation.
