Ashley Park has resumed filming for “Emily in Paris” after a health scare. The 32-year-old actress, known for her role as Mindy Chen, announced her return via Instagram Story. In the clip, filmed on set in Paris, France, Park expressed her excitement, stating, “We’re back!”

“So happy to be back to start filming days with @carolenicolas @parizhair again!” she also wrote, tagging the show’s official Instagram account and adding a purple heart emoji.

Park shared photos from her “first day back to work” on Saturday, emphasizing a cautious approach: “taking it slow, steady, and styling [sic] in Mindy’s shoes again.”

“Emily in Paris” was renewed for a fourth season in January 2022, preceding the premiere of its third season. Despite delays caused by last year’s writers and actors’ strikes, production for season 4 commenced with the cast’s first table read on Jan. 19.

However, Park disclosed shortly afterward that she had been hospitalized, revealing that she was in the intensive care unit battling “critical septic shock.”

“As I sit here processing and recovering from the first few weeks of 2024, the only word I can think of is grateful,” she captioned the post, which featured several photos of her in the hospital with costar and boyfriend Paul Forman. “While on holiday in December into New Year, what started as tonsillitis spiraled into critical septic shock, which infected and affected several of my organs. I am grateful that my health has improved despite what we had initially been told.”

The “Joy Ride” star also expressed immense gratitude towards Forman, 29, for steadfastly standing by her side “unconditionally” throughout the challenging ordeal.

“You calmed my fears and held me through ambulances, three foreign hospitals, a week in the ICU, scary ERs, countless scans and tests and injections, excruciating pain, and so much confusion all while we were alone on the other side of the world far from those we know,” she added. “I love you, Paul. More than I can ever say.”

Park described her condition as “very sick,” but noted that she was “slowly on the mend.” Subsequently, she revealed that she was “recovering and resting” in Paris with her “Emily in Paris” family, expressing gratitude towards them and Netflix for “their genuine kindness and gracious patience” as she awaited medical clearance to resume work.

“I promise I’m breathing through this all and taking as much care of myself as I can to get back into fighting shape,” she captioned her post, which included a photo of her with costar Lily Collins. “In the meantime, thanks for the couch cuddles @lilyjcollins ;)”

The first three seasons of Emily in Paris are streaming in full on Netflix.
