At WrestleMania 38 match, Johnny Knoxville and Sami Zayn receives a standing ovation

In January 2022, Johnny Knoxville made his WWE debut and began a feud with Sami Zayn. At WrestleMania 38, where Knoxville prevailed in a match that was warmly embraced by fans, their feud reached an extreme point.

Knoxville’s position on Zayn hasn’t changed, not even after two years. Knoxville acknowledged being happy of their WrestleMania match in an interview with Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso.

He specifically mentioned the standing ovation they received backstage. Although Knoxville was reluctant to give Zayn credit for his outstanding performance in the match, he did it nonetheless.

One outstanding moment from the match was Wee Man’s body slam on Zayn. Zayn and Kevin Owens prevailed at WrestleMania 39, creating history by winning the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships.

Knoxville was visible in the crowd, clearly not happy about Zayn’s victory. A possible return of Knoxville to WWE television is anxiously anticipated by fans.
