Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner reunited on Valentine’s Day to pick up their 11-year-old son, Samuel. The former couple were spotted arriving separately in Los Angeles on Wednesday before meeting up with their youngest child.
Affleck, 51, was photographed chatting on the phone as he clutched a cup of his signature Dunkin’ iced coffee.
The “Gone Girl” star was dressed casually in a blue crewneck sweater with the sleeves rolled up, jeans and blue and white Nike kicks. Jennifer Garner, for her part, wore a holiday-appropriate white T-shirt with the words “You Are Loved” across the chest.
The “13 Going on 30” star, 51, finished her V-Day look with wide-leg pants, sneakers, and sunglasses and carried a black coat in one arm.
Both Hollywood stars appeared to be in good spirits as they made their way to their son with cheerful expressions on their faces. Affleck and Garner, who were married from 2005 to 2018, also share two daughters: Violet, 18, and Seraphina, 15.
The former couple have continued to co-parent their children since their divorce, even blending families with the kids of Affleck’s new wife, Jennifer Lopez.
The “Argo” star and J.Lo, 54, rekindled their early 2000s romance in 2021 and married a year later.
Affleck has taken on the role of a father figure for Lopez’s 15-year-old twins, Max and Emme, whom she shares with her ex-husband Marc Anthony. The collaborators of “No Me Ames” were married from 2004 to 2014. Anthony, 55, tied the knot with Nadia Ferreira last year.
Garner described her co-parenting dynamic with Affleck and Lopez as “amazing,” offering rare insights into their private family life during a 2022 interview. The “Alias” star emphasized their effective collaboration, noting they “work really well together.” Additionally, the “Hustlers” star has openly praised Affleck’s parenting abilities following the blending of their families.
“Oh, my God. He’s an amazing dad. It brings tears to my eyes,” she said on “The View” last May. “He is honestly the best dad I’ve ever seen.”
Lopez expressed that Affleck is “so in tune” with their children, emphasizing his role as a “present, loving dad who cares and shows up every single day.”
“He’s such a brilliant guy anyway like he’s so learned in so many things, and you can just tell that when he had his kids, he must have read every book and everything that you could possibly learn about children, and he applies it,” she shared.
