Campaign officials stated Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris would rally Democrats in states pivotal for the November election against Republican opponent Donald Trump. Following Pennsylvania, Biden’s itinerary includes Georgia, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, and Michigan, while Harris will visit Arizona and Nevada.

Nielsen ratings reported 32.2 million viewers for Biden’s State of the Union address, an 18% increase from the previous year. The campaign anticipates a close race against Trump, emphasizing grassroots efforts across key states necessary for the 270 electoral votes needed for victory.

Campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez highlighted the importance of ground efforts in securing electoral pathways.

Biden’s team plans extensive digital advertising targeting diverse demographics, including Hispanics, African Americans, and Asian Americans, alongside ads on popular channels like Comedy Central and ESPN.

The campaign’s deputy manager, Rob Flaherty, noted that the $30 million ad buy exceeds their spending for the entirety of 2023.

Biden’s State of the Union speech generated significant fundraising, although precise figures were not disclosed. As of the previous month, the campaign had amassed over $42 million in January, with $130 million cash on hand for the general election.

Biden’s visit to a Philadelphia suburban county, which has witnessed a Democratic surge, underscores the campaign’s strategy of mobilizing support in areas crucial for victory. To secure Pennsylvania, Biden aims to replicate success in urban centers and surrounding suburbs.
