Blue Lock Season 2 Adds Satoshi Hino, Akihisa Wakayama to Cast, Premiering October 5 on TV Asahi

The official website of the Blue Lock 2nd Season anime has announced two new cast members for the show. It’s set to premiere on October 5 at 11:30 p.m. on TV Asahi. Satoshi Hino from “Haikyuu!!” will voice Oliver Aiku, and Akihisa Wakayama from “Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e” will play Shuto Sendou.

Directed by Shintarou Inokawa (known for “Blame!”) and produced by 8bit, with Yuuji Haibara as chief director, the series is scripted by Taku Kishimoto (“Bucchigiri?!”), featuring character designs by Kenji Tanabe (“Chiyu Mahou no Machigatta Tsukaikata”) and music by Jun Murayama (“Blue Lock”).

Blue Lock is a popular soccer manga created by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yuusuke Nomura. It started in Weekly Shounen Magazine in August 2018 and has 29 volumes published by Kodansha as of May 16, with the 30th volume coming on August 16.

There’s also a spin-off called “Blue Lock: Episode Nagi,” focusing on Seishirou Nagi, which began in June 2022 in Bessatsu Shounen Magazine. Four volumes of the spin-off are out, and the fifth is set to release on July 17.

Both the main series and the spin-off were licensed by Kodansha USA in January 2021 and October 2023, respectively. The 25th volume of the original manga was released on May 7, with the 26th volume slated for July 2.

The spin-off’s first volume is set to release on October 15. This highly anticipated anime adaptation promises to bring the intense soccer drama and compelling characters of Blue Lock to a new audience on screen.
