Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is on the way! Blumhouse and Universal announced the sequel at CinemaCon 2024.

The first movie came out last year, and now the second one is set to hit theaters in fall 2025. William Afton, played by Matthew Lillard, might still be alive, which means more terror could be coming.

The first movie made a lot of money, over $291 million worldwide. So, it’s no surprise they’re making a sequel.

Blumhouse likes turning their successful movies into series, and with all the stories from Scott Cawthon’s game, there’s plenty to work with.

William Afton’s return will bring more fun to Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza

Production on the sequel seems to have started already, so get ready for more frights with Freddy and his pals.

Josh Hutcherson starred in the first movie as Mike Schmidt, a young man dealing with the loss of his brother while caring for his sister, Abby, played by Piper Rubio.

Struggling to find work, Mike takes a job as a night guard at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, unaware that it’s connected to the man responsible for his brother’s death.

It’s unclear when the sequel will take place, but considering the franchise’s storytelling style, some parts might deal with the past.

If the sequel follows the second game, like the first movie did with the first game, it could be a prequel, exploring events before the original story.

Blumhouse is adding Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 to its list of scary movies. They’ve been busy lately, working on sequels for M3GAN and The Black Phone.

With these multiple franchises, Blumhouse has a chance to have several hits in one year. It’s a smart move for them as they wait for the next installment of the Halloween series.
