In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 8, the manga showed the Hidden Leaf Village under attack by God Trees Jura and Hidari. They were searching for Naruto, leading them to Himawari, hinting at something interesting happening.
Boruto defeated Mitsuki and told him he was his “sun.” Also, Boruto revealed to Mitsuki, Shikamaru, and Ino that Naruto and Hinata were alive.
After talking with Shikamaru and Ino, Boruto explained Eida’s Omnipotence Shinjutsu secrets. Se saw Boruto and Mitsuki’s interaction and thought Boruto was really cool. T
hen, Eida told Kawaki and Delta where Boruto was, and they rushed off to stop him. Boruto told Shikamaru everything he knew about the God Trees.
He was sure that if the God Trees consumed either him or Kawaki, it would mean the end of the planet. Just then, Kawaki messaged Shikamaru, saying he was going after Boruto.
Hearing this, Boruto left the Hidden Leaf Village, causing Kawaki and Delta to lose track of him. Back at Eida’s place, Mitsuki came back after meeting Boruto.
He told Eida how her Shinjutsu helped him feel love. Before, Mitsuki didn’t think love was significant, but Eida’s Shinjutsu changed that.
Eida explained why she knew she loved Kawaki and expressed her desire to meet Boruto and have a deep conversation with him.
Outside the Hidden Leaf Village, a Claw Grime was spotted making its way toward the village. When it neared the village, Jura and Hidari utilized the Claw Grime with Code’s teleportation jutsu to arrive at its location, as the two God Trees invaded the Hidden Leaf Village.
The Shinobi mistook Hidari for Sasuke Uchiha and moved closer, but the God Trees swiftly ended their lives.
Kawaki and Delta returned from their search for Boruto and immediately confronted the God Trees. Sadly, Jura quickly defeated Kawaki and resumed his hunt for Naruto Uzumaki.
Sumire and Sarada were on their way to the location of the intruders, with Sarada determined to face the God Tree, drawing inspiration from her father, Sasuke.
Meanwhile, Himawari and Team 10 encountered the God Trees. Jura sensed the chakra of the Nine-Tailed Beast and tracked it to Himawari’s location.
