The last scene showed Fami summoning one of her pawns, ready to defend Asa against Public Safety. This time, the Devil she summoned was a new one: the Guillotine Devil.
This new Devil’s design adds to Fujimoto’s collection of scary monsters in Chainsaw Man. It looks just as menacing as any big Devil, with a frightening bird-like head towering above its victims.
Its body is made of a single human skeleton fused with a guillotine blade. Despite its terrifying appearance, it turns out the Guillotine Devil’s power isn’t quite as strong as it seems at first glance.
The Guillotine Devil has a unique ability: it can instantly slice everything around it. However, since it’s controlled by Fami, it can’t seem to cut people just their weapons and clothes.
This leads to a funny moment where the bird like Guillotine Devil squawks while Fami commands it to “slaughter them,” but the Devil fails miserably.
Fami explains to Asa that this happened because the Devils she summons aren’t at full strength. Also, Fami’s power has some restrictions, which she keeps as a “secret” for now.
Chapter 158 introduces Asa’s new team of allies, and they’re not exactly the most skilled bunch Denji would hope for in a rescue crew.
However, fans know from Denji’s own experiences that sometimes, having a bit of clumsiness can work wonders. This chapter of Chainsaw Man is full of surprises, making it a thrilling and action-packed read.
Unlike previous chapters, there aren’t any big cliffhangers this time, but the overall story is so gripping now that fans are eager for the next installment.
