Chance The Rapper and his wife Kirsten Corley have announced their decision to divorce after being married since 2019.
In a joint statement shared on both Corley’s Instagram Story and Chance’s account, the couple explained that they have mutually agreed to separate after a period of reflection and gratitude for their time together.
“We kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate this transition,” they wrote. The couple also expressed gratitude for their two daughters, Kensli, aged seven, and Marli, aged four, whom they plan to continue raising together.
Chance and Kirsten have a long history, having been friends since childhood. They began dating as adults in 2013 and eventually tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in March 2019.
Despite a brief split in 2016, they reconciled and continued their journey together. Their marriage has been a significant influence on Chance’s music career, with elements of their relationship often woven into his art.
His 2019 album “The Big Day” was inspired by their wedding and served as his official debut album, reaching No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. Since then, Chance has not released a studio LP.
