According to the NBC summary, in yesterday’s Chicago Fire season 12 episode 5, “Brett and Violet look for answers after their defibrillator malfunctions on a call.” Herrmann searches for the ideal place to put his new recliner. A hidden detail from Gibson’s past is revealed.

The whole incident began with a high school emergency involving a young basketball player whose heart had stopped. It appeared that the case would proceed exactly like any other, but when Sylvie and Violet prepared to carry out their routine, their tools malfunctioned.

In the Chicago Fire episode airing today, Violet threw the ultimate bachelorette party. Everyone adored it because it was so outrageous. With that party, Violet was truly at the top of her game. She served as Brett’s maid of honor. She was assisting with every aspect of the impending nuptials.

Recap

It had been her delight to organize the celebration because she was also Brett’s closest friend. The next morning was just as horrible. The women of Station 51 were extremely sleepy. They still didn’t feel human enough to laugh about it, so they couldn’t even laugh about it. They were showering more than once.

They were making an effort not to look at their phones because something had sent their loved ones explicit photos. The fact that Severide at least replied to Kidd’s mails was another noteworthy aspect.

Usually, Severide takes an eternity to respond to her. Kidd is aware that posting pictures of herself in the nude could attract his attention. Violet almost sent Carver one of her own pictures as well. Although it was a close call and not the last one of the day, she hadn’t.

Later, the women received an invitation to a high school basketball game. A child had fainted during the match. Sadly, Brett was about to shock him to restart his heartbeat when the defibrillator malfunctioned. Brett had to ask the school for a machine. And after a while, the teenager’s pulse returned.

After the boy was dropped off at the hospital, Brett went back and looked at that monitor. The device appeared to be working well. Brett had to report the machine breaking down because it even claimed to have given out a charge when in reality it did not.

Sadly, the child she had assisted remained unresponsive. It took the equipment around four minutes to break down that way, leaving him without a pulse. He might still pass away, and in that case, it might be attributed to user fault rather than computer error. Brett is immediately framed for the events that follow.

This could be the end of Brett’s career. She needs to demonstrate that it was a glitch in the machine. She was fortunate that there were many spectators at the game who saw that the defibrillator would not function. Violet was among them.

The fact that this occurred the morning following her bachelorette celebration was something that was going against her. Additionally, Brett experienced it when he was looking for a job with the Portland Fire Department. Should this be determined to have been an error on her part, it might follow her to any future positions she applies for or holds.
