After a lengthy legal battle, former LOONA member Chuu wins over BlockBerryCreative. On March 8, the 7th Civil Division of the Seoul High Court upheld the previous ruling favoring Chuu.

The court’s decision reaffirms Chuu’s claims against BlockBerryCreative, echoing the sentiments of the initial trial.

In a statement regarding the ruling, the court emphasized the reasonableness of the first trial’s conclusion, as reported.

The legal dispute began in November 2022 when BlockBerryCreative announced Chuu’s departure from LOONA, citing allegations of “violent language and misuse of power” towards a staff member.

Chuu promptly refuted these accusations, sparking a legal battle. In December of the same year, Chuu initiated legal action against BlockBerryCreative, seeking to annul her exclusive contract due to grievances such as unfair profit distribution and a breakdown of trust.

Despite court-mediated negotiations in March 2023, no resolution was reached between the parties.

Following the dispute, Chuu signed an exclusive contract with her new agency, ATRP, in April 2023. Since then, she has been actively pursuing her career, engaging in various promotional activities under the new agency’s banner.

In August, Chuu achieved a favorable outcome in the initial trial, leading BlockBerryCreative to appeal the ruling. However, the subsequent appeal case upheld the original decision.
