In the trailer, Doc Rivers takes on the role of Head Coach with a goal to turn the team around. However, Sterling’s personal life adds more challenges. Sterling, estranged from his wife Shelly, gets involved with his assistant, V. This relationship leads to V recording Sterling making racist remarks.

The Trailer Tells A Lot About Race Relations In Basketball

The trailer highlights the issue of race in basketball. Sterling’s history of racism is well-known. The tape exposed the extent of his unacceptable behavior. The trailer shows how Rivers tries to protect his players from Sterling’s control.

The series also focuses on the players’ perspectives. They express their anger towards Sterling’s racism. One player talks about the difficulty of explaining to his children why he works for such a person. Sterling even tries to control Rivers, but Rivers firmly states, “You’re not my owner!”

The story remains relevant today. Even though the events happened years ago, the themes are still important. FX aims to tell stories from pop culture’s past. Clipped, formerly known as The Sterling Affairs, premieres on Hulu on June 4.
