The highly anticipated new project in the Code Geass series, titled Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture, has finally received an official release date for its debut on Disney+. The series is set to premiere on May 10, 2024, and this announcement came alongside the revealing of an exciting new trailer.

Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture has disclosed the release dates for all four parts, with the initial installment set to air on Disney+ on May 10, 2024, followed by Part 2 on June 7, Part 3 on July 5, and Part 4 on August 2.

Additionally, the release of the main visual, a fresh trailer, and the news of Hikari Mitsushima performing the ending theme song “Rozé” (produced by TeddyLoid) were officially revealed.

The updated synopsis for Rozé of the Recapture has also been revealed, giving fans a sneak peek into the storyline. It reads:

“In the year Kouwa 7, in the former Hokkaido block of the United States of Japan occupied by the Neo-Britannian Empire, there were mercenary brothers known as the ‘Nanashi Mercenaries.’

The elder brother, Ash, possesses extremely superior athletic ability and advanced piloting skills for the Knightmare Frame, while the younger brother, Roze, is intelligent and in charge of information gathering and operational command.

The 100th emperor of Britannia, Charis al Britannia, who had repelled the Black Knights’ liberation operation for four years with the impregnable energy barrier known as the Citumpe Barrier, together with Noland and the other Einberg Knights, are about to plunge the world into chaos once again.” Ash and Rozé will get on a mission to rescue Emperor Sakuya, who was kidnapped by Charis.

With Disney’s licensing of the series, Code Geass joins other upcoming anime series such as The Fable, Go! Go! Loser Ranger!, and Akira Toriyama’s Sand Land as the streaming service continues to expand its anime catalog.

Additionally, a significant portion of the Macross franchise is set to arrive on Disney+ this year. Currently, Disney+ streams various anime and anime-related titles, including Star Wars: Visions and Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir.

Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture marks the first original addition to the beloved franchise since the release of Akito the Exiled’s fifth part in 2016. Originally launched in October 2006, Code Geass garnered critical acclaim with 50 episodes spanning two seasons, both of which are available for streaming on Crunchyroll.
