While loading groceries into his car, he was struck by a speeding driver who fled the scene. The accident resulted in Obi losing both of his legs above the knee, a life-altering event that he faced with remarkable resilience.
Despite the immense challenges following his accident, Obi underwent multiple surgeries, and rehabilitation, and was fitted with prosthetic legs.
