Marvel Studios has dropped the highly anticipated first trailer for Deadpool 3, featuring Ryan Reynolds reprising his role as the irreverent Wade Wilson and a surprising appearance by Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.

This marks the only Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie slated for release in 2024, following the Hollywood strikes that affected the industry in 2023.

The film, directed by Shawn Levy and titled “Deadpool & Wolverine,” is set to conclude the Deadpool trilogy and is generating significant excitement as it integrates Deadpool into the Avengers-themed MCU.

After weeks of speculation and amidst numerous Deadpool 3 set photos circulating online, the trailer made its debut during the 2024 Super Bowl, confirming the official title of the film.

Directed by Shawn Levy, who collaborated on the script with Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells, “Deadpool & Wolverine” promises to be a major entry in MCU’s Phase 5.

The trailer unveils crucial details about the film’s storyline, particularly its significant tie-in with the MCU. The Time Variance Authority (TVA), previously introduced in Loki, plays a pivotal role in connecting Deadpool’s narrative to the broader Marvel Studios continuity.

While none of the familiar TVA characters from Loki are explicitly featured, Matthew Macfadyen’s mysterious character, known as Paradox, is revealed to be an agent.

Despite the existence of a Marvel Comics character named Paradox, the film’s version appears to be a new incarnation.

As Deadpool becomes entangled with the TVA, Paradox presents him with an opportunity to join the ranks of MCU’s heroes, specifically the Avengers. The trailer emphasizes Wade’s eagerness to embrace this role, humorously dubbing himself the “Marvel Jesus.”

Additionally, “Deadpool & Wolverine” hints after the Fox-Marvel universe, with Wolverine (played by Hugh Jackman) making a mysterious return.

The teaser trailer, labeled as such, suggests that a more extensive official trailer will be released before the film’s summer launch.

Despite its teaser status, the footage provides an exciting glimpse into the world of “Deadpool & Wolverine,” setting the stage for what promises to be a game-changing addition to the MCU.

With the film already making waves in its marketing approach, audiences can anticipate further surprises and revelations as the release date approaches.
