Dee Snider Explains Why SKID ROW and Sebastian Bach Won’t Reunite Despite Fan Wishes

Dee Snider

In a recent interview, Dee Snider talked about why SKID ROW is not reuniting with their old singer, Sebastian Bach, even though fans want it. Snider, who is friends with both Bach and SKID ROW guitarist Dave Sabo, said he tried to help them get along while they were making the ‘Slave To The Grind’ album.

He explained that people change over time, and this can affect how band members get along. Snider shared that his own band, TWISTED SISTER, had also gone through conflicts but eventually made up.

Snider highlighted that personal issues and egos on all sides are preventing the reunion. He mentioned that unless everyone involved can move past their differences, a reunion is unlikely. This sentiment was echoed by Sabo in a recent interview where he firmly ruled out the possibility of Bach rejoining the band, citing the importance of personal happiness and the collective decision of the band members.

Sabo clarified that the decision not to reunite with Bach is a collective one made by himself, guitarist Scotti Hill, and bassist Rachel Bolan. He expressed frustration over the unfair blame placed on Bolan, stressing that all three have agreed to avoid revisiting that part of their history. Sabo underscored their contentment with the current band lineup and their desire to maintain their happiness and stability.

The departure of singer Erik Grönwall, who left SKID ROW three months ago due to health issues, adds another layer to the band’s ongoing changes. Grönwall, who had been battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia, had to prioritize his health over touring. His exit marks another transition in the band’s lineup since Bach’s departure in 1996.

The band’s history of changes and brief reunions highlights the complexity of their relationship with Bach. Rachel Bolan previously confirmed that they had considered reuniting with Bach but ultimately decided against it. Bolan emphasized that their relationship with Bach was more professional than personal, and the logistical and interpersonal challenges were too significant to overcome.

Sebastian Bach has expressed bitterness over the failed reunion attempts, attributing part of the conflict to differing management styles and financial disagreements.

Sabo countered Bach’s claims, stating that all band members receive equal pay and suggesting that Bach’s recollection of events might be skewed. Bolan and Sabo concluded that maintaining their happiness and peace of mind is more important than reuniting with Bach, despite the nostalgia and fan interest.
