Director Son Seung-hee criticized another group for copying the "Cruella set" from (G)I-DLE's "Super Lady" MV, stating it's a clear case of plagiarism.

Director Son Seung-hee, responsible for (G)I-DLE’s “Super Lady” music video, took to social media on May 3 to call out another group for plagiarizing the iconic “Cruella set” featured in the MV.

Expressing disappointment, Son Seung-hee clarified, “It’s okay to take reference from other creators, but this is a copy, not a reference.” The director highlighted scenes in the accused music video that mirrored the background and props with Dalmatian patterns, notably during Yuqi’s performance with the Cruella concept.

The music video accused of plagiarism is “Sipvay” by overseas artists Yanitsa and Bily Anish, released in April. Son Seung-hee’s post has sparked discussions among fans and industry watchers regarding artistic integrity and originality in music production.

On a separate note, (G)I-DLE recently celebrated its 6th debut anniversary on May 2. The girl group garnered significant attention with the visually stunning and high-budget MV for “Super Lady”, which serves as the title track of their latest album, [2].
