Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green recently shared his opinion on the playoff showdown between the Suns and the Timberwolves.

Green believes injecting some excitement into the series could be achieved by assigning Kevin Durant to guard Anthony Edwards for the rest of the matchups.

Green’s suggestion stemmed from Edwards’ impressive scoring performance, coupled with his fiery interaction with Durant during the game. Green emphasized the need for Durant to prioritize defensive efforts while relying on his teammates for offensive contributions.

Green has never shied away from expressing his opinions on other players

In a podcast episode of ‘The Draymond Green Show,’ Green discussed his thoughts on the Suns’ strategy against the Timberwolves.

He proposed that the Suns deploy Durant to match up against Edwards throughout the series. Additionally, Green stressed the importance of players like Devin Booker, Bradley Beal, and Grayson Allen stepping up offensively to alleviate Durant’s load.

While the Phoenix Suns boast talented scorers like Booker and Beal, Durant typically leads the offensive charge for the Brooklyn Nets.

However, Green believes a strategic shift, focusing Durant’s attention on stopping Edwards, could be key to the Suns’ comeback and potential series victory.

Durant showcased his prowess in Game 1 with an impressive performance, tallying 31 points, seven rebounds and contributing across the board with assists, steals, and blocks. This standout performance sets the stage for potential adjustments in Durant’s defensive role as the series progresses.
