In Jujustu Kaisen, there are lots of curses that want to hurt people. To stop these curses, some special people with powers became Jujutsu sorcerers. Their job is to keep regular people safe.

It’s impossible for them to save everyone. They’ve failed before, and sadly, many people have died as a result.

Sometimes, even the sorcerers themselves are taken down by the curses. Here’s a list of all the characters who’ve died in Jujutsu Kaisen.

The second season of Jujutsu Kaisen had a tough job following the success of the first season. But surprisingly, it did even better.

Just like in the first season, there were character deaths. In the first season, fans witnessed many characters meeting their end in pretty shocking ways.

The second installment really pushed the boundaries. A lot of important characters ended up dead for various reasons. Their deaths played a big role in the story.

1) Nanami

Nanami’s ability to stay composed in dangerous situations sets him apart. In the first season of the anime, he faced off against Mahito in a fierce battle. Despite their best efforts, neither could gain the upper hand.

In a sudden turn, Mahito ensnared Nanami in his Domain Expansion, posing a grave threat. If not for Yuji’s timely intervention, Nanami might not have survived.

However, his luck ran out in the Shibuya Incident arc. Severely injured by Dagon, Nanami fell victim to Mahito’s deadly attack.

Nanami’s death came as a shock to both the audience and the characters in Jujutsu Kaisen. He played a vital role throughout both seasons, so witnessing his death was truly appalling.

2) Toji Fushiguro

Toji Fushiguro, also known as the Sorcerer Killer, gained his reputation by eliminating numerous sorcerers for various motives.

Despite being from the Zenin Clan, he adopted his wife’s surname. Toji was a ruthless individual who didn’t hesitate to take lives as long as he received payment.

Toji had made a Heavenly Pact, boosting his physical abilities significantly. He could swiftly overpower Satoru and Geto and outmaneuver them with ease.

Skilled in various weapons, Toji typically used them in combat. In his first clash with Satoru, Toji utterly dominated the young sorcerer. However, despite the beating, Satoru survived and returned to ultimately defeat Toji.

Toji’s death held great significance for the story. If Gojo hadn’t intervened and killed him, Megumi’s fate could have been drastically altered.

Without proper guidance, Megumi might have taken a completely different path in life, leading to unknown consequences.

3) Kugisaki Nobara

Nobara’s death was a huge shock in the anime. Nobody expected Gege Akutami to kill off the main female lead in Jujutsu Kaisen.

The Shibuya Incident arc was particularly tough for Nobara. She faced a lot of bullying throughout most of the arc.

Nobara had her moment to shine when she faced off against Mahito’s clone. She was in control, confident she could take him down.

But things took a turn when the clone switched places with the main body. Nobara fell behind, and by the time she realized it, it was too late. The real Mahito touched her face, leading to her death.

Nobara’s death came out of nowhere and had a big impact. When Yuji witnessed his friend dying, he was consumed by anger.

He was already furious with Mahito for his terrible actions, but Nobara’s death pushed him over the edge.

4) Mahito

Mahito led a group of special-grade curse spirits who saw humans as worthless and disposable. Among his allies, Mahito stood out as particularly wicked. He enjoyed causing suffering and transforming people into twisted beings.

In the Shibuya Incident arc, Mahito killed hundreds of people and was behind the deaths of Kugisaki Nobara and Nanami.

But he faced consequences for his actions. After a fierce battle with Yuji, Mahito tried to flee. However, he was ultimately defeated by Pseudo-Geto.

Mahito was a key cursed spirit who met his end during the Shibuya arc. He was a malicious figure responsible for the deaths of many.

He showed no remorse for his actions. With Mahito gone, Yuji could finally breathe a sigh of relief. He also found some comfort in knowing that Nobara’s killer could no longer harm anyone else.

5) Junpei

Junpei endured bullying that fueled his resentment towards his tormentors. Mahito exploited this by offering him power to retaliate.

Junpei saw Mahito as a benevolent figure, believing he was genuinely helping him out of kindness. Junpei remained unaware of Mahito’s true intentions until Yuji revealed the truth, but by then, it was too late.

Mahito arrived at the scene and used his power to transform Junpei into a monstrous creature. In his final moments, Junpei pleaded for death.

Witnessing this deeply affected Yuji, prompting him to swear vengeance against Mahito. Junpei made his debut in the first season of the anime as a timid boy who grew to resent others due to mistreatment.

His death served as a significant lesson for Yuji, highlighting that he couldn’t save everyone.

6) Riko

Riko Amanai made her debut in the anime’s second season. She was the Star Plasma Vessel for Tengen, which meant she had to be protected and taken to the place where she would merge.

However, many opposed this idea and tried to kill her before she could get there. Geto and Satoru were escorting Riko, ensuring her safe arrival.

When they reached their destination, Geto gave Riko a choice, she could go back if she wished, and no one would stop her.

Riko was thrilled by this chance to keep living. Just when it seemed like things were going smoothly, Toji Fushigoro suddenly appeared and shot her out of nowhere.

Riko’s death was orchestrated by the Star Religious Group, who hired Toji to carry out the deed. Her passing had a profound effect on Suguru Geto and Gojo Satoru. Following the incident, the two of them took drastically different paths.

7) Dagon

At the start of the Shibuya Incident arc, Dagon might have seemed like a harmless pet with Mahito’s crew.

But he went through a change and became a terrifying special-grade cursed spirit. After transforming, Dagon used his Domain Expansion to trap three strong sorcerers.

If Toji and Megumi hadn’t shown up in time, Dagon might have killed all three sorcerers. Megumi was trying to rescue his friends, while Toji was following orders.

Dagon was too confident he could defeat Toji, but that turned out to be a deadly mistake. Toji completely destroyed Dagon, ending his life.

With Dagon gone, the sorcerers could help their allies. Dagon was tough enough to fight off some of Shibuya’s strongest sorcerers.

If he had succeeded, Megumi and Hanami might’ve died, and Dagon could’ve aided his friends without any hindrance.

8) Kokichi

Kokichi Muta, also known as Mechamaru, was quite involved in the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen. Because of his frail health, he couldn’t move around much, so he depended on Mechamaru to handle his daily activities.

After Mahito healed him, Kokichi jumped into battle against the cursed spirit. It was an intense fight, with the momentum swinging back and forth.

Just when Kokichi seemed to be gaining the upper hand, Mahito unleashed his Domain Expansion, bringing the battle to a sudden end.

Kokichi’s death played an important role in the cursed spirits’ success during the Shibuya Incident. If Mahito had failed and Kokichi had escaped, he could have easily exposed Geto and Mahito’s plan to Gojo Satoru.

This could have led to their plans being foiled without any trouble.

9) Kechizu and Eso

Kechizu and Eso take center stage as the main antagonists of the Death Painting arc. Tasked with retrieving one of Sukuna’s fingers, the brothers begin their search.

They cross paths with Itadori Yuji, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kugisaki. The situation quickly intensified, leading to a fierce battle between Kechizu, Eso, Yuji, and Nobara.

The Death Paintings fought with all their might to overpower the sorcerers. However, Yuji and Nobara stood their ground, refusing to yield.

In the end, the young sorcerers emerged victorious, defeating and ultimately killing Kechizu and Eso. Eso and Kechizu’s deaths deeply affected their older brother, Choso.

He vowed to avenge them no matter what, which led him to align himself with Mahito and Pseudo-Geto.

If Choso still had his brothers, he likely wouldn’t have joined forces with the cursed spirits in Shibuya, as there would have been little reason for him to do so.

10) Hanami

Hanami, a special-grade curse, made their debut in the first season of the anime. During the Goodwill Event at Jujutsu High, they were part of Mahito’s plan to steal cursed objects.

Hanami’s immense power allowed them to overpower most students, except for Aoi Todo and Itadori Yuji, who put up a remarkable fight against the curse.

Hanami withdrew from the battle when Satoru joined in. But in the Shibuya Incident arc, they confronted the strongest sorcerer again.

Hanami and their allies attempted to eliminate Satoru, but they failed. This time, Satoru didn’t allow Hanami to escape. He completely overwhelmed and exorcised the cursed spirit, crushing them entirely.

Hanami was indeed a formidable cursed spirit and a key member of Mahito’s group. In the chaos of Shibuya, they joined the many adversaries that Gojo faced.

Hanami fought fiercely to delay Gojo, but ultimately met their end. However, their sacrifice was not in vain, as Pseudo-Geto succeeded in sealing Gojo after Hanami’s death.

11) Jogo

Jogo was indeed a hot-headed special-grade cursed spirit, brimming with confidence in his abilities. He made the rather bold choice to challenge Satoru, which ultimately proved to be unwise.

Satoru effortlessly countered each of Jogo’s techniques. Realizing he was outmatched, Jogo fled to preserve himself.

In the Shibuya Incident arc, Jogo encountered Sukuna, the King of Curses. Despite Sukuna’s immense power, Jogo bravely attempted to challenge him, only to find himself overpowered once more.

Before his death, Jogo received unexpected praise from Sukuna, evoking strong emotions in him.

Jogo narrowly escaped death when he attempted to attack Gojo Satoru in season one. However, his luck ran out when he faced Sukuna in the subsequent season.

While Jogo’s death didn’t have a significant impact on the plot, it did mean that Yuji and his group had one less enemy to contend with.
