There aren’t many new series coming to Prime Video. Next month, there will just be three new selections, so it’s unlikely that fans will struggle to decide which to watch first. Still, despite their tiny choices, there seems to be an abundance of quality.

Viewers should therefore check out what the streaming service has to offer as February draws near. Based on the same-titled 2005 film, Donald Glover presents the spy comedy Mr. & Mrs. Smith. But compared to its predecessor, the latest incarnation of the concept adopts a deliberately different tone.

A clever comedy featuring Stephanie Hsu and Keke Palmer as extraterrestrial doctors, The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy is worth checking out for fans of adult animation. Finally, Reina Roja, the Juan Gómez-Jurado adaptation, is a must-watch for aficionados of police thrillers with a stunning twist.

February 1

In The Land Of Saints And Sinners: Under Robert Lorenz’s direction, In The Land of Saints and Sinners transports us back to 1974, a time of political turmoil in northwest Ireland. Many people lost their lives when a group led by a woman exploded a bomb on Shankill Road, as we saw at the opening of the movie.

After fleeing to Donegal, the forgotten country, these fugitives—who saw themselves as revolutionaries fighting for an independent Ireland—met an assassin by the name of Finbar Murphy.

Fast & Furious: The American media franchise Fast & Furious, commonly referred to as The Fast and the Furious, is built around a sequence of action movies that mostly deal with street racing, heists, spies, and family.

First published in 2001, the film was written by Gary Scott Thompson, Erik Bergquist, and David Ayer and based on the Ken Li story “Racer X” from Vibe magazine in 1998.

Fast & Furious 6: Vin Diesel’s character Dominic Toretto and his group of professional criminals retired all over the world after their successful Rio heist: While Gisele Yashar (Gal Gadot) and Han Seoul-Oh (Sung Kang) have moved to Hong Kong.

Dominic Toretto resides with Elena Neves (Elsa Pataky); his sister Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster) resides with Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) and their son, Jack; and Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson) and Tej Parker (Chris Bridges) live in opulence.

Agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) of the Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) and Riley, his partner, look into the destruction of a Russian military convoy by Owen Shaw (Luke Evans), a former member of the British Special Forces, and his team.

Furious 7: Deckard Shaw pays his brother Owen a visit at a London hospital as he recuperates from his ordeal with Dominic Toretto and his group.

Deckard tells his brother that he will make things right as they remember their childhood. He makes threats of violence against the medical staff if his sibling has any problems. After breaking in and ruining it, he leaves the hospital in ruins, leaving a trail of dead soldiers in his wake.

In the Californian desert, Dominic is trying to jog Letty Ortiz’s amnesiac memory by bringing her to their “invention,” Race Wars 2014. She remembers a few of her jumbled memories after defeating a less skilled competitor.

The Fast And The Furious: Three substantially modified Honda Civics are used by a heist squad to seize a semi-truck trailer containing electronics and make their getaway via Terminal Island Freeway into the night. As part of a joint LAPD-FBI task team, LAPD officer Brian O’Conner is sent undercover to find the group in question.

Under the management of Mia, the sister of infamous street racer Dominic “Dom” Toretto, Brian looks into Toretto’s Market. Vince has a battle with Brian when Dom’s group—Leon, Jesse, Letty, and Dom—arrives. Brian is immediately barred from the Market and fired from his covert position at Harry’s Garage.

The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift: An auto mechanic by trade, Sean Boswell is a young guy whose life has been filled with mischief. Whenever his issues at school or with the local authorities became serious enough, his single mother was forced to move with him.

The school quarterback’s girlfriend ends up flirting with Sean one day, and as he tries to back down after being insulted, a baseball is hurled through his rear window.

Sean rushes outside and grabs a wrench as he threatens to fight after his car is damaged. Luckily, the quarterback in the Dodge Viper and Sean in the 1971 Monte Carlo decide to compete to see who would win Cindy as his girlfriend.

The Fate Of The Furious: While on their honeymoon in Havana, local racer Fernando challenges Dom Toretto to a street race at an auto show. Fernando owes Dom money for a car that Dom’s cousin had. Dom bets on his show car and races for Fernando’s automobile, which he plans to present to his cousin.

Dom uses the Cuban nitrous oxide that is installed in his cousin’s vehicle. The car’s turbo and engine overheat and glow red as it is racing.

When one of Fernando’s goons places his motorcycle in the raceway and collides with Dom’s automobile, the engine is damaged, and the vehicle slows down. Dom yanks the throttle cable, launching the vehicle at top speed and intensifying the engine’s overheating.

Gunpowder Milkshake: Sharpshooting hitman Sam sneaks into an enemy hideout in the prologue and wreaks mayhem. There should have been three or four guys, but Sam kills them all when he runs into an army. When we travel back in time, little Sam is at a restaurant waiting for her mother.

Scarlet, Sam’s mother, arrives three hours late. Scarlet’s time is running out, though, so as some Russian thugs storm the restaurant, she kills them all before vanishing from sight.

Fifteen years have passed since Scarlet vanished, and Sam has replaced her mother as a brutal gunner for The Firm, a shadowy group of strong men who prefer not to get their hands dirty.

Mr And Mrs Smith S1: The titular characters of the spy comedy Mr. & Mrs. Smith are played by Donal Glover and Maya Erskine. The series, which is based on the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie original 2005 film, appears to be forging its route apart from the hugely successful picture.

Mr And Mrs Smith S1 (Credit: Prime Video)

To match the original, it will need to perform a few things correctly, though. The initial distinction, despite the concept being essentially the same, is that Jane and John Smith work on their cases together and are employed by the same espionage agency.

The two, who are initially strangers, are partnered and bonded under the pretense of being a happy married couple.

The approach taken by the series seems to be more sombre than that of the original movie. The upcoming series, while still very much a comedy, takes a far more grounded tone overall. Its action scenes seem more real than corny, and its humor is far more understated.

However, it is hoped that viewers of the first film would also appreciate the new series. To take a risk on the future show, viewers do not, however, need to have watched or liked the movie. The series, which Glover created and produced, appears to have a bright future ahead of it.

February 6

Bottoms: A genre that hasn’t been seen in Hollywood for a while is making a comeback with Bottoms. The movie is an R-rated comedy that is so raucous and irreverent that studios are afraid to produce it anymore. Those movies mostly followed heterosexual, straight characters as they tried to get over their virginity.

Bottoms decides to reject that assumption. The plot centers on two marginalized LGBT high school girls, Josie (Ayo Edebiri) and PJ (Rachel Sennott), who form a fight club. The reason PJ and Josie started this club was so they could be married before they graduated.

Bottoms (Credit: Prime Video)

An endeavor to find out who they truly are is what follows. Every day, PJ and Josie are reminded of their position at the bottom of the high school hierarchy. Even though both ladies have friends like Hazel (Ruby Cruz), they still yearn for the ones they are unable to have.

Josie is smitten with Isabel (Havana Rose Liu), but PJ falls hard for Brittany (Kaia Gerber). The only problem is that Isabel is romantically involved with Jeff, the top athlete in the school (Nicholas Galitzine).

The New Boy: The New Boy, Warwick Thornton’s third feature film, is a masterful work of filmmaking with lush outback Australian scenery. A little child is taken from the brown tones of the desert and placed in a Christian orphanage that is encircled by verdant, golden farmlands.

The orphanage seems to be geographically isolated, with only a concrete road serving as a means of communication with the outside world. The first sunrise that the new boy sees from the orphanage porch is captured by Thornton’s camera. Far from home, a new life waited for him.

Could he feel safe and accepted in this place, even though no one attempted to harm him physically? Maybe these uncertainties weighed heavily on the little Aboriginal youngster who had been dragged against his will into this foreign land.

Den Of Thieves: The idea of good guys vs bad guys seems to be subverted in Den of Thieves at first. Actor Gerard Butler plays Detective Nicholas “Big Nick” O’Brien, a man who delivers a strong dose of toxic masculinity upon arriving at a crime scene in Los Angeles.

Even though his friends don’t exactly get along with him, his inner group of “regulators” is extremely devoted to him, as shown by a party scene in which they kidnap and interview Donnie Wilson, a local bartender (O’Shea Jackson Jr.).

Big Nick demands information from Donnie regarding his criminal partner Ray Merrimen (Pablo Schreiber), claiming that he and his group are the true villains. Determining the extent of Merrimen’s upcoming theft is Big Nick’s main source of tension in Den of Thieves.

February 8

Gran Turismo: Based On A True Story: Gran Turismo is a video game adaptation unlike any other since it tells a factual story about the game instead of taking its narrative from the game itself.

The story follows Jann Mardenborough, a Gran Turismo player whose prowess in the racing game propels him to a series of video game tournaments sponsored by Nissan.

He then has the opportunity to use his newly acquired abilities on a real racetrack and get behind the wheel of a real race car.

Neill Blomkamp, who is most renowned for directing the science fiction films District 9, Elysium, and Chappie, is the director of Gran Turismo. Jason Hall of American Sniper and Zach Baylin of King Richard wrote the script.

February 9

Upgraded: The phrase “fake it till you make it” is the motto of this Devil Wears Prada-style romantic comedy. An influential man named Archie Renaux believes that Ana, an auction house assistant (played by Riverdale alum Camila Mendes), is her demanding boss (played by Maria Tomei). This leads to a series of miscommunications and chances for both romantic and career growth.

Silent Service S1: Takao Osawa plays the captain of a nuclear submarine during the Cold War who declares his ship an independent nation and then engages in combat with the navies of both the US and the USSR while traveling to a United Nations summit in this brand-new Japanese-language television series, which is based on a popular manga from the 1980s and 1990s.

February 10

Colombiana: The 2011 French action film Colombiana, which starred Zoe Saldana, Michael Vartan, Cliff Curtis, Lennie James, Callum Blue, and Jordi Molla, was directed by Olivier Megaton.

Assassin Fabio Restrepo (Jesse Borrego), working for a drug lord in Bogota, Colombia, informs his boss Don Luis Sandoval (Beto Benites), that he wishes to retire from the criminal world in 1992.

Don Luis is furious that Restrepo believes he can go, even though Restrepo hands him a bunch of computer disks that he claims hold information regarding Don Luis’s firm.

To murder Restrepo and his family, Don Luis dispatches a gang of assassins together with his goon Marco (Jordi Mollà).

RWE At YNG Dreamerz: See the basketball stars of the future perform in the Overtime Elite Basketball League. RWE at Prime Video’s YNG Dreamerz.

February 13

Five Blind Dates: The film, which Shuang Hu (The Family Law) wrote and starred in, centers on a twentysomething woman who manages her Chinese-Australian family’s failing tea shop and is upset when she has to go to her younger sister’s wedding alone and without any dates.

Five Blind Dates (Credit: Prime Video)

Then, in typical rom-com style, a fortune teller tells her that one of her next five dates will open the doors to her career and love life. In real life, though, will she be able to look up from her cups and read the tea leaves?

You Hurt My Feelings: In addition to being a published author, Beth just finished writing her memoir, “I Had to Tell It.” She believed the memoir to be a significant literary work deserving of greater recognition than it received. She wrote a fake novel after having her memoir published.

For Beth, the adjustment was difficult, but having her loving husband Don’s support helped to make the experience a little less scary. Beth valued Don’s input the most and had him carefully review each draft she produced. She felt optimistic about the novel because of Don’s faith in her work.

Don is always cautious with his words and deeds in his role as a therapist. Lately, the realization that he was becoming older was weighing heavily on him.

Bad Moms: Unexpectedly, “Bad Moms,” which was written by two men, Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, captures that universal phenomenon perfectly. However, it tempers its kernels of truth with deliciously vulgar humor.

Lucas and Moore have some knowledge regarding the notion that friends might free themselves by acting in a wholly inappropriate way.

Bad Moms (Credit: Prime Video)

They also wrote and directed the first installment of “The Hangover.” Here, they provide us with slo-mo party montages of ladies raucously robbing the grocery store, dancing up and down while guzzling vodka bottles, and making out to the beat of dance music, all while displaying an unexpected talent for real-world understanding.

Bad Moms 2: In the Bad Moms sequel, which was again written and directed by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore (the same guys who wrote The Hangover), Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Kathryn Hahn return to their respective roles as supermum, doormat mom, and mischievous mom.

The Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon, Christine Baranski from The Good Wife, and Cheryl Hines from Curb Your Enthusiasm complete the talented ensemble cast. The film, which takes place in the run-up to Christmas, explores issues of socially unacceptable behaviour and maternal inadequacy in addition to mother-daughter connections. In every scene, Baranski (The Good Wife) plays Amy Kunis’s controlling mother.

February 14

The Voices: “The Voices” opens with Jerry (Reynolds), a toy factory worker who must wear pink every day. Jerry’s unrelenting optimism is reminiscent of Joel and Ethan Coen’s satirical views of small-town life.

He is ecstatic about organizing a workplace party and thinking nothing of it—he’s even preparing a conga line to “Sing a Happy Song” like it’s a corny wedding.

Only when he gets back to his dilapidated home does his cat Mr. Whiskers correct him. They only don’t fire you because they find you amusing. After all, you are so incredibly sad.

The dark side and deadly intent of even the most upbeat, outwardly happy people in society are being explored by Satrapi, like by so many other filmmakers before her.

Two Night Stand: The 2014 American romantic comedy film Two Night Stand was written and directed by Max Nichols.

It starred Miles Teller, Scott Mescudi, Jessica Szohr, Lio Tipton, and Leven Rambin. One day, Megan, who is lonely and without a job, signs up for a dating service.

Her housemates invite her to a party at a club, but all they want is for her to move out. She bumps into her ex-fiance, Chris, after a bouncer denies her entry to the club because she is too young and does not have her ID. She then chooses to have a one-night stand with Alec, one of the men she discovered on the internet.

February 16

This Is Me…Now: A Love Story: With an autobiographical look at the pop diva’s life, including her tabloid-fodder romances, Jennifer Lopez’s genre-bending special, scheduled to release alongside her first studio album in ten years, looks to be a full-on cinematic experience.

Indeed, artists like Fat Joe, 53, Post Malone, Keke Palmer, 51-year-old Sofia Vergara, Derek Hough, and 65-year-old Neil DeGrasse Tyson are present, along with Ben Affleck, the couple’s new husband. With their extravagant sets, costumes, and choreography, the musical production numbers appear magnificent.

Atwood gives the Russian-Jewish gang the box. It has proof that could help the group’s commander escape Russia’s Gulag. The leader’s wife, Irina (Kate Winslet), refuses to give Michael the money that was promised.

As an alternative, she orders Michael and his team to complete one more task, which will involve breaking into a Homeland Security headquarters and stealing additional data about her spouse.

Michael’s desire for a clean departure from Irina’s organization is complicated by the fact that he is the father of a son by her sister Elena (Gal Gadot). Observing Michael’s hesitancy towards taking on a second job, Irina and her spouse resolve to deliver a forceful message to him by enticing Russell away. Russell is tortured by the mobsters, who then abandon him for Michael and the other members of the team to find him almost dead.

The Second Best Hospital In The Galaxy S1: A brand-new animated comedy series aimed solely at adults, The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy follows two alien best friends, Drs. Sleech (Stephanie Hsu) and Klak (Keke Palmer), as they battle a variety of illnesses throughout the galaxy, such as anxiety-inducing parasites, illicit time loops, and numerous other rare diseases.

Sleech and Klak are internationally recognized doctors, but their personal lives are far from glamorous. When they choose to take on a new case, the extremely risky but potentially revolutionary effort puts the existence of all aliens in jeopardy. Even though their personal lives are so miserable, the two don’t truly desire to disappear completely.

The new Prime Video series, which was created and produced by Cirocco Dunlap, a writer for the popular Netflix comedy Russian Doll, also stars Kieran Culkin, Sam Smith, Maya Rudolph, and Natasha Lyonne. Eight episodes will make up The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy, which will resemble Scrubs but take place in space.

Despite having a much shorter lifespan than most animated television programs, the new series is expected to receive multiple renewals due to its impressive cast. The show will be of interest to fans of adult animation when it debuts at the end of February.

Jenny Slate: Seasoned Professional S1: Perhaps the most well-known roles for Jenny Slate were in offbeat indie comedies such as Obvious Child, or she co-created and voiced the endearing Marcel the Shell With Shoes On.

She goes back to her stand-up origins in this special, performing a routine about the dangers of dating and the need to follow your therapist around.

February 27

American Fiction: The plot of American Fiction centers on the emotional and professional upheaval of Thelonious “Monk” Ellison (Jeffrey Wright), a struggling author whose once-promising career is completely failing to his dismay and contempt.

Monk struggles to sell his work in a world where he believes the only way to succeed as a Black author is to write tired stories about Black sorrow and suffering. What incites his righteous wrath is the rising star of literature, Sintara Golden (Issa Rae), whose debut novel about life in the hood becomes an instant blockbuster.

Monk chooses to retaliate against the publishing industry by mailing a manuscript of My Pafology because he is incensed that there seems to be only one way to be Black and appeal to the mainstream book world.

Life, Itself (Credit: Prime Video)

Life, Itself: Dan Fogelman is the writer, co-producer, and director of the 2018 American psychological drama film Life Itself. Envious, Danny jettisons Marcos with a life preserver into the water. He then takes the boat to an island far away, just to intimidate Marcos. Marcos had vanished by the time they got back to where they left him.

They debate alibis and try to find a way out of their situation, first ruining their relationships and then themselves, fearing the repercussions of his potential drowning.

February 29

Reina Roja S1: Reina Roja is based on the first book of Juan Gómez-Jurado’s trilogy and centers on Antonia Scott (Vicky Luengo), who has an IQ of 242 and is considered the smartest person on the planet. Her intelligence has therefore made her the “Red Queen” of a covert police operation.

What at first appears to be a blessing swiftly transforms into a curse, costing Antonia everything, including her place on the force.

The Red Queen organization is established following the kidnapping of the richest man in Spain’s daughter and the gruesome death of the son of a prominent businessman.

Reina Roja S1 (Credit: Prime Video)

Therefore, in an attempt to reintegrate Antonia back into the fold, her former boss, Mentor, bequeaths Jon Gutiérrez, a Basque police officer with a nasty temper who is about to be fired from the force.

The most recent thriller on Prime Video devolves into a bizarre game of cat and mouse and is set in Madrid, a city that is crucial to the plot of the show. Even though they annoy each other to a great extent, Jon and Antonia begin to appreciate each other more as their inquiry gets more complicated.

When Reina Roja debuts next month, viewers can expect to be gripped by a compelling story that combines the suspense of the investigation with the humour and chemistry of its two central characters.

The Equalizer 3: Following serious injuries, Robert McCall finds comfort in the quaint beach hamlet of Altomonte. However, the nasty La Camorra organization wants to evict homeowners, so his intentions to live out his golden years in this beautiful corner of Sicily are at risk.

Since McCall is unable to see horrible things happen and will not allow the locals to suffer, he battles the bad guys on his own.

This causes him to change back into their hero. He can easily eliminate a whole gang of crooks by himself, of course.

The Equalizer 3 (Credit: Prime Video)

In “The Equalizer 3,” there are many exciting action sequences when Washington’s character battles the bad guys in the mob. One of these nasty individuals, Marco, threatened a local police officer named Gio and his family.

Vincent, the brother of the deceased Marco and the leader of the crowd, gets very angry. To scare the entire village, he brings a large number of armed men to the town square.

McCall doesn’t give up though. McCall says, “I’ve found peace, and you can’t take it away from me,” which Vincent overhears. Vincent is forced to leave because of the people’s help, saving the day.
