Jean Allison, an actress known for her roles in numerous television shows and her appearance in the 1958 crime drama “Edge of Fury,” passed away on February 28, as announced by her family. She was 94.

According to her obituary, Jean Allison was a resident of Rancho Palos Verdes, California. On film, Allison made her debut in “Edge of Fury” and also appeared in “The Devil’s Partner” (1960), “The Steagle” (1971), “Bad Company” (1972), and “Hardcore” (1979).

Allison’s television credits include appearances on numerous shows such as “Perry Mason,” “Have Gun — Will Travel,” “Bonanza,” “Hawaiian Eye,” “The Rifleman,” “McCloud,” “Adam-12,” “The Waltons,” “Charlie’s Angels,” “Starsky & Hutch,” and “Highway to Heaven,” as reported.

Born on October 24, 1929, in Tarrytown, New York, Jean Allison attended Adelphi College on Long Island and later studied acting under Sanford Meisner.

Jean Allison was married three times. Her first marriage was to actor-director Lee Phillips, followed by boxing trainer Jerry Boyd.

In 1961, she married Philip Toorvald, and they remained together until his passing in 1994, as reported. 

Following Toorvald’s death, Allison had a relationship with longtime cameraman Jack Couffer, as noted by People. They collaborated on “The Edge of Fury” and remained companions until Couffer’s passing in 2021.

Jean Allison is survived by her three children, Erin, Sven, and Tina, whom she had with Philip Toorvald.
