Finneas O’Connell, alongside girlfriend Claudia Sulewski, celebrated his historic win at the 2024 Oscars. The songwriter/producer, 26, and his sister Billie Eilish made history as the youngest two-time winners for Best Original Song with “What Was I Made For?” from Barbie. The couple marked the occasion by attending the Vanity Fair afterparty.

The couple, who have been together for over five years, graced the red carpet together at the event in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

The Grammy winner and YouTuber posed together, with O’Connell wrapping his arm around Sulewski’s back. They appeared joyful in several shots, with the singer-songwriter proudly displaying his trophy.

Sulewski donned a stylish black dress featuring a menswear-inspired halter neckline, plunging in both the front and back.

O’Connell complemented her look in a sleek black satin suit paired with a black t-shirt underneath.

Earlier during the 96th annual Academy Awards, the musician and his sister/collaborator, 22, performed their hit song from Greta Gerwig’s blockbuster Barbie, which received six nominations.

The stage was adorned in pink as O’Connell played the song on piano, while Eilish delivered a moving performance, bringing tears to cast members like America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, and the film’s writer/director, 40.

Their song, “What Was I Made For?”, competed against tracks like “I’m Just Ken” from Barbie, “The Fire Inside” from Flamin’ Hot, “It Never Went Away” from American Symphony, and “Wahzhazhe (A Song for My People)” from Killers of the Flower Moon.

During their acceptance speech, Eilish and O’Connell expressed gratitude to the team behind Barbie, acknowledging Eilish’s childhood friend and several teachers.

Eilish emphasized her appreciation for the song, the movie, and its emotional impact on viewers, dedicating their win to everyone affected by the film’s message.

O’Connell and Sulewski have a history of attending the Academy Awards together, notably in 2022 when O’Connell and Eilish won their first Oscar for “No Time to Die” from the James Bond movie of the same name. Sulewski also joined O’Connell earlier this year at the 2024 Grammys and various other events.

The couple initially met in 2018 through a dating app and have remained close ever since.

In 2019, they took their relationship to the next level by purchasing a house and moving in together. Over the years, they have collaborated on projects, such as Sulewski directing and starring in O’Connell’s music video for the 2022 hit song “Mona Lisa, Mona Lisa.”

Last September, the “What They’ll Say About Us” singer and the influencer celebrated their milestone fifth anniversary.

In mid-February, the singer-songwriter shared a heartfelt birthday message for the actress/filmmaker on Instagram. He captioned a photo of the pair with,

“Happy birthday to my most precious Claudia who has made the world a better, brighter place since she got here. So lucky you were born when you were, so lucky to be around you.”
