With more options for viewers to catch “Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle” in Japan than there are teams left in Nationals, the anime film continues its journey at the domestic box office.

As it completes its first full month in theaters, the film has surpassed yet another milestone, accumulating over 7 billion yen in earnings.

As of March 17, “Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle” has grossed an impressive 7 billion yen (US$46.80 million), selling 4.91 million tickets across various formats including IMAX, 4DX, and English-subbed screenings.

This achievement solidifies the film’s status as the highest-grossing movie of the Japanese box office calendar year, surpassing “SPY x FAMILY Code: White.”

Toho Animation leads the production of the two “Haikyu!! FINAL” anime films, with Production I.G. handling the animation.

The talented team includes Susumu Mitsunaka as director and screenwriter, Takahiro Kishida as character designer, and Takahiro Chiba as chief animation director.

The first film, “Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle,” premiered in Japan on February 16, 2024, with the release date for the second film yet to be announced.
