Former Kansas City Chiefs cheerleader Krystal “Krissy” Anderson passed away at the age of 40 due to sepsis complications following the stillbirth of her daughter at 21 weeks.

The Kansas City Chiefs’ cheerleaders’ official Instagram account expressed deep sorrow over Krissy’s passing, highlighting her tenure from 2006 to 2011 and 2013 to 2016, encompassing over 100 games.

Krissy was celebrated for her role as a Chiefs representative at the Pro Bowl in 2015, her leadership as a team captain, her participation in the London game, and her visits to troops worldwide, including Iraq, Kuwait, and the United States.

After her time as a cheerleader, Krissy continued her involvement in an alumni capacity during game days, practices, and events. Her fellow cheerleaders remembered her for her kind spirit, contagious energy, and undeniable charm.

They expressed condolences to her family and promised to honour her legacy. A GoFundMe campaign established to commemorate Krissy’s memory revealed that she passed away on March 20 after battling sepsis.

Tragically, she lost her daughter Charlotte during childbirth. Despite medical efforts, Krissy succumbed to organ failure caused by sepsis complications. The GoFundMe, initially aiming to raise $25,000. 

Described as “magic personified” on the GoFundMe page, Krissy was praised for her radiant smile and witty humor, which touched the lives of all who knew her. Krissy’s husband, speaking to local Kansas City outlet Fox 4, expressed profound grief over her loss, describing their relationship as a source of joy and love.
