Former NBA Player Ben McLemore Arrested On First-Degree Rape Charges

Former NBA player Ben McLemore has been arrested on serious charges of first-degree rape and other sex-related offenses. The 31-year-old, who made 64 appearances for the Portland Trail Blazers two seasons ago, was booked into the Clackamas County Jail in Oregon on Thursday.

The arrest stemmed from an outstanding warrant from Clackamas County, as reported by KGW8 in Portland. McLemore is set for arraignment on Wednesday afternoon in Clackamas County Circuit Court, facing charges of first-degree rape, first-degree unlawful sexual penetration, and two counts of second-degree sexual abuse.

According to KGW8, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office confirmed McLemore’s arrest on Tuesday morning, leading to his transport to the Clackamas County Jail.

Ben McLemore Spent Nine Years In The NBA

Ben McLemore, a former seventh overall draft pick in 2013 by the Sacramento Kings, played nine seasons in the NBA. His career included stints with the Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets, and Los Angeles Lakers before joining the Portland Trail Blazers for the 2021-22 season.

During his time with the Blazers, McLemore averaged 10.2 points in 20.1 minutes per game. After the season, he ventured overseas, playing for teams in China, Greece, and Spain, with his last team being Rio Breogan in the Spanish Liga ACB.

Throughout his NBA career, McLemore averaged 9.0 points per game across 556 appearances. As the legal proceedings unfold, McLemore’s arrest has brought serious allegations against the former basketball player, casting a shadow over his once-prominent career.
