‘Game of Thrones’ Actor Ian Gelder Passed Away At 74

Ian Gelder, the esteemed British actor celebrated for his portrayal of Kevan Lannister in the iconic series “Game of Thrones,” passed away on Monday due to complications from bile duct cancer. He was 74.

Confirmation of Gelder’s passing came from his partner, Ben Daniels, who shared the news on Instagram, expressing profound sadness and heartbreak over the loss.

Daniels revealed that Gelder had been battling bile duct cancer since December, and his passing came swiftly, leaving them both unprepared for the speed of its progression.

In “Game of Thrones,” Gelder portrayed the role of Kevan Lannister, the younger brother of Lord Tywin Lannister, appearing in 12 episodes of the HBO series.

Beyond his notable role in “Game of Thrones,” Gelder showcased his talent across various television series, including “Doctor Who,” “Snatch,” and “Fifteen-Love,”.
