“Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” smashes its way into Japanese cinemas, bringing audiences face-to-face with the ultimate battle between two legendary titans.

Debuting at #2 in the Japanese box office, the film sold over 300,000 tickets and earned a staggering 466,704,060 yen (approximately US$3.05 million) in its first three days of release.

As the Monday holiday rolled around, ticket sales soared to 417,000, with a cumulative total of 622 million yen (about US$4.06 million) – a testament to the film’s gripping appeal.

This epic showdown between Godzilla and Kong has been met with enthusiasm everywhere. Originally slated for an April 12 release in the United States, the film surprised fans by premiering two weeks earlier on March 29.

Its preview screenings on March 28 garnered an impressive US$8 million, marking the second-best previews for a “Monsterverse” movie.

As the film stormed into theaters across America, it dominated the box office, earning a staggering US$80 million in its opening weekend.
