Top Republican pollster Frank Luntz issued a cautionary note to New York Attorney General Letitia James regarding the potential seizure of former President Donald Trump‘s properties. This warning comes as Trump faces a deadline to pay a $454 million fine to the state of New York.

Luntz, known for his decades-long affiliation with the GOP, suggested that James could inadvertently bolster Trump’s image if she moves forward with seizing his assets.

He believes that such actions could fuel Trump’s narrative of victimhood and persecution by the establishment, ultimately benefiting him politically, especially in the upcoming 2024 presidential rematch with President Joe Biden.

During a recent CNN panel discussion, Luntz emphasized that Trump’s ability to portray himself as a victim could significantly impact his standing in public opinion polls, particularly if his properties are seized by an establishment figure like James.

Furthermore, Luntz criticized the Democratic and “Never Trump” factions for what he perceives as strategic errors in their attempts to thwart Trump’s influence. He argued that these groups are inadvertently contributing to Trump’s political resurgence by mishandling their campaign against him.

The Attorney General’s formal registration of judgments against Trump’s properties in Westchester County indicates potential actions to seize assets if Trump fails to meet the court-ordered payment deadline.

This move suggests that properties such as Trump Tower, Seven Springs estate, and Trump National Golf Club could be targeted.

Trump launched a series of online fundraising appeals and criticized James and the judge overseeing his case. Despite claims of substantial personal wealth, Trump’s legal team struggled to secure bond underwriters, exacerbating his financial challenges.

As Trump continues to be involved in legal and financial turmoil, he faces the specter of multiple criminal trials, marking a tumultuous chapter in his post-presidential life.
