It was confirmed that Blanchard had filed for divorce from Anderson, who works as a special education teacher in Louisiana.

The announcement of the separation between Blanchard and her husband came on March 28, just three months after her early release from prison.

Following the separation, she was seen with her former fiancé, Ken Urker, engaging in activities such as having lunch together and getting matching tattoos.

“They are not back together,” Urker’s mother, Raina William, previously told PEOPLE. “They’re very cool. Ken is just being a supportive friend to her and that’s it.”

“I think she’s a sweet girl,” Williams later added. “I think she’s made her mistakes and she’s trying to learn from them like anyone else. And I care a lot for Gypsy and I want to see good things happen for her.”

In 2016, Blanchard pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for conspiring with her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, to kill her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard.

After serving eight years, Blanchard was released in 2023. Godejohn, who committed the murder, was convicted of first-degree murder and received a life sentence.
