WrestleMania 40 Breaks Records

One of WrestleMania 40’s most notable accomplishments was its enormous gate, which shattered all prior records by an astounding 78%. The event, which took place at Lincoln Financial Field over two thrilling evenings, drew an astounding 145,298 people from all over the world, cemented its status as a worldwide sensation.

Beyond its historic gate totals, WrestleMania 40 saw a significant rise in viewership—a whopping 41% increase over the previous year’s record-breaking attendance over both nights.

Additionally, WrestleMania 40 created a stir of sponsorship when PRIME Hydration sponsored a ring mat for the first time in history. In association with Fanatics Events, the event also hosted WWE World at WrestleMania, which turned out to be the most successful and well-attended fan event in WWE’s illustrious past.

With over 660 million views throughout the two days of the spectacular, WrestleMania 40 broke all previous records for becoming the most socially viewed WrestleMania ever.

On WrestleMania 40 Sunday, WWE’s YouTube channel also hit a historic milestone, garnering over 67 million views in a single day, making it the channel’s most-viewed day ever.

WrestleMania 40 proved to be a huge success outside of the main event as well. At Wells Fargo Center, Friday Night SmackDown attracted the biggest gate in SmackDown history. At the same location, Monday Night Raw set a record for the biggest gate in Raw history.

In addition, NXT Stand & Deliver, which drew 16,545 spectators to Wells Fargo Center, achieved its peak attendance as the most-attended NXT event ever.

A memorable event that raised the bar for the wrestling business overall, WrestleMania 40 will always be remembered as the highly anticipated return of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to the ring and Cody Rhodes’ victorious overturning of Roman Reigns.
