Jujutsu Kaisen and Hajime no Ippo are both anime with plenty of action, but their protagonists, Yuji Itadori and Ippo Makunouchi, lead vastly different lives.

Ippo strives to become a top boxer, while Yuji battles to survive in a world teeming with curses. Despite this contrast, the creator of Hajime no Ippo has developed an admiration for Jujutsu Kaisen’s main character.

Interestingly, both anime series share the same studio. MAPPA, known for producing Hajime no Ippo: The Rising in 2013, later took on Jujutsu Kaisen.

Unfortunately, fans of sports anime haven’t seen Ippo’s boxing journey on screen since then, with no new series confirmed. However, creator George Morikawa continues to work on the manga, hinting at a planned conclusion.

In a recent social media post, Morikawa expressed his admiration for Itadori, showcasing his appreciation for the Jujutsu Kaisen protagonist. While a crossover seems unlikely, it’s evident that manga creators often find inspiration in other anime franchises.

While the future of Hajime no Ippo remains uncertain, Jujutsu Kaisen has been greenlit for a third season by MAPPA. Following the Shibuya Incident Arc, Yuji faces increasing challenges as the world turns against him and the Culling Games commence. Meanwhile, in the manga, Gege Akutami hints at an impending conclusion to Yuji’s journey.
