Reflecting on his past, Miller emphasized the importance of surrounding oneself with excellence and learning from the best. With four children enrolled in St. Anne’s Belfield’s school system, including three sons who actively participate in football, Miller’s commitment to the school’s community and his family’s involvement underscores his dedication to the program’s success.

“More than coaching them on the field, it’s the car rides to and from practice and the bonds that you have in those moments,” Miller said, reflecting on his coaching experience. “With four kids, those one-on-one moments that you get are things that I really cherish.”

Renowned for his toughness, reliability, and versatility as a tight end, Miller was also celebrated for his selflessness and team-first mentality. These qualities were evident when he received the Steelers’ team MVP award in 2012 and was later inducted into the team’s Hall of Honor in 2022.

Reflecting on Miller’s impact, former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger remarked, “He was always in the right place… I knew I didn’t have to guess or wonder. I knew he would be there. There were times I would ask if he was open and he would say no, and I knew he was. That was the selfless part of him.”
